Visual Lottery Analyser - Lottery Numbers Import  
 

When you start to work with lottery software then one of the first one most important task is establishing
a database of current lottery numbers. Very often this is a time consuming task.

Visual Lottery Analyser provides the Lottery Numbers Import Wizard feature so you do not have to type
all the numbers manually. Using it you can import numbers from text file, paste text from clipboard or import numbers from a game web site page and then parse an imported text into numbers.

To open Lottery Number Import Wizard, please go to the software main window and click the Import Wizard button located on the ribbon bar within Lottery Numbers group.
 
Welcome Window
After the window opens click the Next button.

 

Select Game Window
Here you must select the game you want to add the lottery numbers to.

(If you have not added yet your games to software then please use
Games Database
 Add Game Wizard feature to add)

After you have the game selected click the Next button.
Numbers Source Window
On this window you have to choose the source of your lottery numbers.
There are three options to chose from:

Text
File
Select this option if you have already some text file with lottery numbers.

Paste From Clipboard
You can paste some text from computer's clipboard a text wizard's editor.
It may be simple text or text copied from game's web site that includes numbers.

Internet Web Page
Many lotteries has web site with pages of current lottery numbers.
Select this option if you want to download numbers from the Internet directly

After you have the source numbers type selected click the Next button.
Text File Window
This window will appear if you have chosen previously Text File option as your source of numbers.

To select the text file form disk just click the Open button. A dialog window opens where you may select the file on your disk.

Selected file contents will be shown in the text editor. After you have the file selected click the Next button.

Paste From Clipboard Window
This window will appear if you have chosen previously to paste some text from clipboard

To paste the text just click the Paste button. 

Pasted text will be shown in the text editor. After that click the Next button.

 

Internet Web Page Window
This window will appear if you have chosen previously as source numbers option
to get numbers from the Internet game's web page

Enter the Internet address into a drop down list and click the Open button.
The web page will be loaded into software text editor as text only.

After you have the page loaded selected click the Next button.

 

Prepare And Clean Text Window
This window ill appear always when you have got your text in the wizard text editor taken from selected numbers source.

On this window you can se a few tools. These tools may help you to modify the text if necessary.

To successfully parse text into a lottery numbers the text must be in the following of the following formats:
1. Date (delimiter) Number 1 (delimiter) Number 2 (delimiter) ...
    Example: 05-08-2008, 1, 12, 33, 35, 45 where comma character is    
    used as delimiter

2. Number 1 (delimiter) Number 2 (delimiter) ... Date
    Example: 1, 12, 33, 35, 45, 05-08-2008 where comma character is    
    used as delimiter
3. Number 1 (delimiter) Number 2 (delimiter) ...
    Example: 1,12,33,35,45 where comma character is    
    used as delimiter
 

The window the following tools, which you may use if necessary:
Options
Click the arrow button to open a list with options. These options are used by the Clean command described below to clean the text.


Delimiter

Comma character , is default delimiter used to parse the text and convert it into a format used by this software. You may use different delimiter here by entering new one into a Delimiter text box.
Empty space as delimiter is allowed.

Clean
If text you have imported is dirty, have unnecessary characters you may use this command to clean the text.
This command will remove all unnecessary white spaces, replace all character selected in the Options with current delimiter, detect the date within text lines, remove all letters from text
In the result of this command work the text should be formatted and be ready for the next step.

Text Filter
This tool let you filter the text by the filter you enter. As a filter you may use any character, word or sentence.
Enter the filter into a Filter By text box and click the Filtering button to filter the text.
In the result of this command work only those lines from the text that consisting the filter will be shown, rest of the text lines will be removed.
The third group of tools is named Replace Text and include simple utility that allows to replace some text with another in text editor.

This utility might be helpful to prepare text to the format necessary to have text successfully parsed.
Into text box Find What enter a text to be replaced and into Replace With the text replacement.

Click the Replace button to replace one text only or Replace All to replace all text in editor.

After you have the text formatted then click the Next button.
 
Lottery Numbers Validation Window
This is the last step before you add numbers to software database.
Please review whether the numbers are correctly shown on the window.
To make any corrections you may go back to any previous wizard window by clicking on the Previous button.

 

Numbers Order
Please select whether latest drawings are on the top or on the bottom of list
You must select the option correctly to have the lottery umbers entered into a software database in correct order

Append when Adding
If selected then new numbers will be appended to existing otherwise the previous lottery umbers in database will be erased and replaced with the new ones.

After you have the numbers reviewed click the Next button to add numbers.
 
Wizard Complete Window
This window will be shown after software finish adding new number to its database.
 

After importing the numbers for the first time you will continue to adding the latest numbers to software database using other features.
